In Fall of 2021 I was selected by Everpress to design a special tee for their second annual Type In Focus campaign. The theme was “Outside the Lines,” which I related to very personally as someone who began identifying as nonbinary this year.
The phrase 'The Future is Nonbinary' is about imagining a world that rejects traditional binary ways of thinking, so I wanted to create letters that felt unrestrained, expressive, and often undefinable. I had also spent a lot of time in Coney Island over the summer, so I became obsessed with the vernacular design of airbrush graphics.
